The history of Smokefree Smokefree Class 2007/2008 Class

The Smokefree Class Competition (SFC) is a prevention project funded in part by smoking by the European Commission under the Public Health Programme.

The idea of \u200b\u200bthis contest was developed in Finland where it is organized every year since 1989.
Italy began its participation in the edition 1997/1998 with the accession of hundreds of classes. Every year thousands of students participating in SFC and assessments carried out show that this competition contributes to the prevention of tobacco smoking in schools.

This year is expected massive turnout.
New regions have indicated the commitment to the project by giving you the chance to schools of their territory to participate in this European project.
Year after year, the project racccoglie growing consensus on the part of students, teachers and parents.

signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and State Railways. The protocol extends the ban on smoking at Italian stations in addition to implementing the communication systems of the same prohibition. The initiative is part of the campaign " Gaining health " proposes a new way to experience the stations: a life more enjoyable whilst maintaining the health and freedom of all. It will thus be extended to additional areas of the smoking ban and will be allowed to smoke only on the banks of the tracks, considered "free smoking."
The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the regions and with other institutions has played since the entry into force of the law (January 10, 2005) a constant monitoring of its implementation and evaluation of achievements.
Here are the main findings:
- Reduce consumption
- Decline in smoking prevalence
- Observance of the Law on Health Protection of nonsmokers
- Health Effects
